Crane Army Celebrates 35 Years of Ammunition Excellence
Crane Army Ammunition Activity celebrated its anniversary Oct. 4, marking 35 years since the U.S. Army activity was organized and given the responsibility of all conventional ammunition activity at then Naval Weapons Support Center, Crane.
CAAA is celebrating its anniversary with a series of events throughout the month of October. It kicked off the celebration with its traditional employee picnic at the Crane ball field Oct. 4 and a homecoming luncheon for retired employees at Crane Club Lakeview Oct. 10. It will also hold an all-hands briefing for employees later in the month and a dedication of a production complex later in the year.

Training Opportunity
Five Army Reserve Soldiers from the 630th Transportation Company recently received valuable training at the Letterkenny Munitions Center that helped save $6,350 in labor and transportation costs for the ammunition site. The Soldiers were part of the 630th advanced echelon team getting ready for their two weeks of annual training.

Off CFC Season
Crane Army Ammunition Activity joined the other commands on Naval Support Activity Crane in kicking off the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign at the Crane Café Oct. 3. Speaking to a crowd of Army and Navy civilians and employees, CAAA Commander Col. Linwood Clark expressed to the crowd the important role the CFC has played over the years in helping local, national and worldwide charities.

MIAs at Joint Ceremony
Crane Army Ammunition Activity joined the other military commands located on Naval Support Activity Crane in hosting its annual Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Ceremony at the Crane Lakeview Club on Sept. 20. Members of the official party stand with the honored guests, former POWs and the spouses of deceased former POWs, after the ceremony.
