Questions > FAQ Topic

How do I request an Air Force speaker for an off-base function?

Official public appearances and speeches by Air Force people, military or civilian, constitute essential parts of the Air Force program to keep the public informed. To meet this goal, we continually conduct outreach efforts such as public speaking as long as participation does not imply Air Force sponsorship or agreement with the statements of others that may be partisan or religious in nature or contrary to national policy.

Guidelines:

1. Provide plenty of notice. Submit your request at least 30 days prior to the event.

2. We may ask the requestor to cover some of the cost associated with the speaker attending the event. Examples would include parking, admission fees, food service, etc. If the visit is overnight or involves travel outside Las Vegas, we may ask you to pay for travel and accommodations. In most cases, however, there is no cost to the group for the speaker's presentation.

3.  Be sure to include the official name, time and place of the event, a point of contact with phone number and e-mail address, suggested topics and speaker, how many people will attend, some background on the people attending, and a Web site or other sources of information about the event or company. Also include names of any notables, i.e. congressmen, mayors, senators, etc., that may attend the event. Make sure to include why this event is important. This letter or e-mail will be used to "sell" your event to potential speakers.
