The overall goal is to increase the participation of people with disabilities in USAID activities and strengthen the capacities of DPOs.

The KZ-INFaNT project focuses on the aspect of maternal and child health concerning improved nutrition and feeding for infants and young children.  The project will help ensure that improved baby-house menu, recently approved by the Ministry of Health, is effectively implemented in the country’s twenty five baby houses, including best practices in child feeding. 

The goal of the project is to improve nutrition and feeding for institutionalized children under four years of age in Kazakhstan. Read more »

The Kazakhstan Association on Sexual & Reproductive Health (KMPA) operates within the framework of strengthening women, children and youth reproductive health by providing training for health workers, providing technical assistance to health organizations to improve the quality of health services for men and women in public health institutions, as well as to improve people's awareness. Increasingaccess to education for students and access to qualified graduates for prospective employers by: 

• Providing a loan portfolio guarantee to two local financial institutions which offer student loans
• Creating a venue for cooperation among educational institutions, private sectorand potential employees
• Helping to link business sector employment needs/demands with qualified graduates.

This public-private partnership with Chevron supports two youth centers which provide HIV counseling and reproductive health education, computer literacy classes, and English lessons to support the needs of at-risk youth;  a drop-in center for injection drug users provides counseling services, HIV-prevention education, and referrals for medical services.
