Congressman David Valadao

Representing the 21st District of California

Economy and Jobs

Due to our nation’s economic downturn, burdensome regulatory policies at the state and federal levels, and man-made water shortages, the Central Valley’s unemployment has been at record highs for the past four years. I will work to keep jobs in California by combating onerous regulations that make it difficult to own and operate small businesses and I am committed to bringing water back to the Central Valley.

National unemployment has been too high for too long. Coupled with rising gas prices and climbing taxes, these factors hurt our nation’s competitiveness and make jobs for hardworking Americans a scarce commodity. Reforming America’s tax codes, expanding domestic oil production, and completing of the Keystone Pipeline would keep more money in Americans’ pockets and free up capital that job creators could use to hire more workers.
