General Information
The American Citizen Services Unit of U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza. U.S. citizens visiting or residing outside these areas are served by the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. The State Department's website, travel.state.gov, also has a wide range of country-specific information.
- Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. U.S. citizens traveling or living overseas are strongly advised to register with the nearest embassy or consulate. Registration is quick and easy to do online.

- Travel warnings and alerts. Follow this link for the most recent State Department Travel Warning for Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.
- Messages to U.S. citizens. The Consulate General issues periodic messages to alert U.S. citizens to events in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.
- Information on border crossings. While we seek to provide general information on requirements to enter Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, we recommend that you review the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the most current information.
- Voting information. U.S. citizens living or traveling outside the U.S. are generally eligible to vote in U.S. elections.
- Tax information. The Consular Section cannot provide advice on tax-related matters, but the IRS website has extensive information on the tax obligations of U.S. citizens and legal residents living overseas.
