A PERFORMANCE-BASED, LEARNER-CENTERED Training and Development Program
The Branch of Conservation Science and Policy Training has the lead role for the Service's programs in a broad range of science and policy oriented curricula covering endangered species, environmental contaminants, aquatic ecology, statistical methodology, fisheries resources, conservation biology, decision analysis, adaptive management, wildlife ecology and other science based training and training support. The Branch also defines and develops strategies and processes for organizational learning and development in support of the Service's science mission and goals.
We focus on the following:
Geospatial and Statistics Curricula - including predictive species distribution modeling, data analysis, and monitoring; population dynamics modeling for management; and training on natural resource geospatial and other information systems; and conservation field technologies.
Policy and Planning Curricula - including natural resource policy, regulation, and planning; endangered species act training; and courses for conservation practitioner skill development.
Ecology and Other Conservation Curricula - including animal husbandry and health; ecology and management; river/stream management; environmental quality; and other conservation-related science training.

To identify, develop and provide training, tools and services that enhance the capability of employees in science and policy application in order to achieve the Mission of the Fish and Wildlife Service.
