Project DUNDEE
(Down Under Early Warning Experiment)
Down Under Early Warning Experiment (DUNDEE) was a theater missile defense technology that was executed during the late 1990s in cooperation with the Australian Defense and Science Technology Organization in Salisbury, Australia. The aim of the program was to develop operational enhancements to missile launch detection systems using Over-the-Horizon and Line-of-sight High Frequency radar sensors.

In September 1997, the Department of Defense's Missile Defense Agency and the Australian Defense Science and Technology Organization were involved in Project DUNDEE, a cooperative U.S. and Australia research and experimentation project using Australia's Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar to detect theater ballistic missiles. The aim of Project DUNDEE was to investigate the possibility of detecting missiles in their "boost phase" immediately after launch. |
