Serendipity

What Is Serendipity?

Serendipity is an interactive software program that combines conventional lesson plans and classroom basics into interactive, educational games. The program’s curriculum covers subjects including the eco-system, astronomy, etc., which are part of the national standards required to be included in middle school curriculum. Along with national standards, the creators of Serendipity—Terrence Ahrens and Angie—have established an outline their software follows called “Design Centered Practice.” This practice encompasses a four-phase cycle, shown below. This cycle was designed to provide a successful process for using games, models, and simulations in the classroom.
