What is happening in Oakland, CA on preparedness?
If a big earthquake would happen right this min., what is everyone's preparedness kit look like? Are you ready?
When you are doing your spring cleaning around the house, make or update your emergency preparedness kit for your home and/or car. Remember to ask yourself: Does your family have a plan? What about your pets? Have you talked to your kids on what to do or what to do?
Be Ready...Are you?
Please go to www.ready.gov to help with what to put into your kits and making plans.
I personally think the first step in getting ourselves, our neighbors, and our families prepared is to change our mindset about preparedness, and convince ourselves that being prepared is SO important!
If you know people who haven't had this switch in their mindset, feel free to share this column with them, which has my perspective on preparedness. http://www.paloaltoonline.com/weekly/story.php?story_id=17812
Hopefully we can get people engaged, and convince them WHY they need to become prepared, and then, HOW they can get prepared.
Thanks!
