The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and preparing engineering estimates, designs, drawings and specifications and for administration of contracts for a diverse variety of projects from buildings, to equipment structure foundations, to asphalt pavements, to drainage designs, etc. In conjunction with engineering design work performed, directs/performs the preparation of specifications and solicitations for construction work, substantiating engineering design intent in narrative form.

You must meet all the qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement. You may review the qualification requirements here. If you are qualifying based on experience, you must have served at least one year working in a job that required specialized experience. To qualify at the GS-11 level you must have one year of specialized experience that is comparable in level, difficulty and responsibility to at least that of the GS-09 in the Federal Service. For the GS-11 level, specialized experience includes: Experience in the coordination and design of architectural, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering and techniques of design, construction and inspection particularly as they relate to the construction of a high voltage power system (69kv and above) including transmission lines, substations and communication facilities in order to provide office engineering support for regional construction projects. To qualify at the GS-12 level you must have one year of specialized experience that is comparable in level, difficulty and responsibility to at least that of the GS-11 in the Federal Service. For the GS-12 level, specialized experience includes: Experience in leading, organizing, coordinating, and design of architectural, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering and techniques of design, construction and inspection particularly as they relate to the construction of a high voltage power system (69kv and above) including transmission lines, substations and communication facilities in order to provide office engineering support for regional construction projects.
