The Corps of Engineers operates the six mainstem dams on the Missouri River. There are no locks incorporated in any of these dam structures to accommodate the passage of boats from one lake to the other on the river.

To make a journey up the river you will need to make arrangements to portage or trailer your boats around the dams. This service is not provided by the Corps of Engineers.
