Winter Access policy for Corps recreation areas in North Dakota now available

The 2012-2013 winter access policy for western and central North Dakota including Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon is now available. Ryan Newman, lake manager, said, "The lake has not yet frozen over, but with the recent cold weather it won’t be long. We urge everyone to exercise extreme caution. Gavins Point's Lewis and Clark Visitor Center to close for the season

The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Park Service will close for the season effective Friday, November 16, 2012 at 4:30 P.M. The center, which is located on Nebraska Highway 121 near the Gavins Point Dam, will reopen in March. [Read More]

December 3 date set for Santee Recreation Area closure

A December 3 start date has been set for the boat basin closure at the Santee Recreation Area. A rehabilitation project to dredge the basin to improve boating access in the basin and to the ramp will close the area for approximately two weeks while the project is completed. [Read More]

Boat ramps at Santee Recreation Area to close temporarily

A rehabilitation project at the Santee Recreation Area boat basin is scheduled to begin the second week in November closing the boat ramp for the project's duration. The project includes dredging the basin to improve boating access in the basin and to the ramp. The boat ramp will remain closed for approximately two weeks while the project is completed.
