The leadership of the 186th is manned with highly experienced patriots, many of whom have served in this unit their entire military career. Our Objective Wing structure has the Wing Commander and Vice Commander providing central leadership, while the Headquarters element provides safety, financial management, chaplain, legal, human relations, military equal opportunity, and family support services, along with the public affairs and history sections.

Lt. Gen. McKinley is responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting more than 106,800 Guard members in more than 88 flying units and 200 geographically separated units throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.
