MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Jurgella, 5th Bomb Wing command chief, receives instructions from Senior Airman Justin Phillips, 5th Medical Group dental lab technician, during his visit to the 5th MDG Dental Lab here recently. The Dental Lab is a two-man section, but is currently only manned by one Airman. The lab is where all dental appliances and prosthetics are fabricated. Dental lab technicians are their own separate career field (4Y0X2), but fall under the management of the base dental clinic. The technician works closely with dental assistants and dentists to ensure patients receive the best care possible. Of all patient dental appliances, 99 percent are created here on base. The remaining 1 percent is sent out to the Area Dental Laboratory. (Photo courtesy of the Command Chief's Office)
