What happens when you're faced with evacuation? |
When there's a major evacuation caused by an emergency such as an earthquake, hurricane, flood or wildfire, Air Force has created a method to ensure that we know you are safe and secure, your immediate emergency needs are met, and your whereabouts are known. This program is called the Air Force Personnel Accountability and Assessment System.
AFPAAS, for short, provides valuable information to all levels of the Air Force chain of command, allowing commanders to make strategic decisions which facilitate your return to your home base or home.
AFPAAS allows you to do the following:
- Report where you are located
- Provide the case managers with emergency contact information
- Identify your specific emergency needs
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP THE AFPAAS LINK AVAILABLE WITH YOUR EMERGENCY EVACUATION INFORMATION. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU ENTER YOUR INFORMATION WHEN EVACUATED. NO ACTION ON YOUR PART IS NECESSARY IF YOU'RE NOT AFFECTED BY AN EVACUATION.
