176th Operations Group (176 OG)

The 176th Operations Group is one of four groups (the others being the 176th Maintenance Group; the 176th Medical Group; and the 176th Mission Support Group) that make up the 176th Wing.

The Operations Group comprises the units that directly execute the wing's missions: tactical airlift, strategic airlift, air control, and combat search and rescue. These subsidiary units are:

144th Airlift Squadron
Tactical airlift/airdrop via eight C-130 "Hercules" aircraft

176th Air Control Squadron
Works with NORAD to monitors and track potential threats to North American air sovereignty

176th Operations Support Squadron
Provides aircrew flight equipment, airfield management, current operations, intelligence, resource management, training and weapons/tactics support to the Operations Group, and intelligence support to all components of the 176th Wing.

210th Rescue Squadron
Combat and peacetime search and rescue via six HH-60 Pavehawk helicopters

211th Rescue Squadron
Combat and peacetime search and rescue, airlift and refueling via four HC-130 King aircraft.

212th Rescue Squadron
Provides highly trained pararescuers, combat rescue officers and Search, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) specialists to execute rescue missions.

249th Airlift Squadron
Works hand-in-hand with U.S. Air Force to provide global strategic airlift via eight C-17 Globemaster IIIs.
