Gold Star Wives   www.goldstarwives.org
Organization of military widows whose spouse died while on active duty or from service-related wounds. GSW received a federal charter in 1980 and serve widows from all conflicts.

Patriot Guard Riders    www.patriotguard.org
Group of motorcycle lovers from all over the country who have an unwavering respect for those in the military. Among other projects, their main mission is to honor our fallen heroes by attending military funerals as the invited guests of the family to shield the family and friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protestors.

Sons and Daughters in Touch   www.sdit.org
Dedicated to locating, uniting and supporting sons, daughters and other family members of those who died or remain missing as a result of the Vietnam War.

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)    www.taps.org
Organization that provides 24/7 tragedy assistance for anyone who has suffered the loss of a military loved one, as well as hosting Survivor Seminars and Good Grief camps to assist families in the grieving process.

TAPS offers regional and national Good Grief Camps to children and teens; providing them with a safe and supportive atmosphere to conduct activities and have opportunities to learn coping skills, establish and identify support systems and create awareness that they are not alone in the grief of their loved one.   Children and teens meet others of their own age group to share and learn, together.

Operation Hug-a-Hero (aka Daddy Dolls)    www.operationhugahero.org
Operation Hug-A-Hero provides dolls with a head-to-toe photograph of the recipient’s parent or loved one and a personalized message just for them.  Dolls are free to children of fallen heroes.

Sesame Workshop’s Talk, Listen Connect; When Families Grieve   www.sesameworkshop.org/grief  
The death of a loved one brings enormous challenges. When Families Grieve presents families' personal stories about coping with the death of a parent, as well as strategies that have helped these families move forward.  Sesame is here to support you through some of the issues you may face as a family.

Snowball Express provides surviving children and family members the chance to attend a weekend of fun. The organization covers the cost of flights from around the country and provides games and entertainment for families.

Zero to Three informs, trains, and supports professionals, policymakers, and parents in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers. They address the continuum of challenges of military life, from the day-to-day stress of deployment and relocation to the intense challenges of trauma, grief, and loss that are experienced by some.

Rainbows is an international organization that offers training and suggestions for creating peer support groups within religious organizations, schools, and social organizations. Rainbows focus’ on grief within the family unit, especially that which may arise from the death of a loved one.
