Audio Visual finding aids at the Clinton Presidential Library contain a detailed description of the collection including the total length of the video or audio recording and number of photos. Finding aids also include background information of the event or situation as well as a description of the format of the recording (ex: Betacam video, audio cassette, etc).

This is an audio recording of an interview of President Clinton by Tom Brokaw of MSNBC; the interview took place in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on July 15, 1996.  The interview was a live interview for MSNBC’s show “Internight.” The President and Tom Brokaw discussed various topics such as information technology, Russia, President Clinton’s personal character, tobacco, illegal drugs, welfare reform, Social Security, the Presidential experience, oil imports, income tax, college tuition deduction, China, immigration and Cuba, Bob Dole, Richard Lamm, and the Democratic Convention.

Event speakers included, Dr. David Baltimore, President of CALTECH, and Gordon Moore, Chairman Emeritus and co-founder of Intel Corporation.  The photographs consist of President Clinton giving remarks and then greeting guests after his speech in the auditorium.

This is a video recording of President Clinton's remarks during an interview with CBS Radio on December 11, 1999. The President was interviewed by Mark Knoller and Peter Maer of CBS Radio.  The interview took place at an office within the Wyndham Palace Resort Hotel in Orlando, Florida.  There is also a video recording from December 11, 1999 at a Unity Reception in Miami, FL. The President makes remarks and greets guests at a private residence.

The photographs document President Clinton taping a Radio Address at the Chautauqua Institution, walking with Hillary Rodham Clinton, walking with Senator George Mitchell and Kirk Hanlin, playing golf with Erskine Bowles, et al., and speaking with advisors at the Athenaeum Hotel.  Photographs also document President Clinton speaking with reporters and conferring with Mike McCurry, Leon Panetta, Joe Lockhart, Doug Sosnick, Erskine Bowles, Bob Squier, George Stephanopoulos, and Bruce Lindsey.  This collection includes photographs of President Clinton and Senator Robert “Bob” Dole participating in the first Presidential debate at Bushnell Auditorium in Hartford, Connecticut, and the post-debate party at Union Station in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Landmark for Peace Memorial is a memorial sculpture at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Indianapolis that honors the contributions of the leaders Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy. The photographs consist of President Clinton with fellow guests making remarks at the event and the ground being broken by the dignitaries on the site of the proposed memorial.

Oklahoma City Bombing

This collection consists of video recordings of President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton greeting officials and being briefed by local law enforcement, emergency rescue personnel, and firemen at the State Fairgrounds Arena holding area in Oklahoma City, OK on April 23, 1995. The video recording also contains footage of the Clintons greeting and speaking to families of United States Secret Service officers who perished during the bombing.

This collection consists of photos of President Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton attending the Women's Gymnastics Artistic final on July 25, 1996 during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA. The photos show President Clinton seated and conversing with writer George Plimpton at the Olympic Games. Plimpton later interviewed President Clinton on Air Force One on the way back from the Olympic Games for a piece in Sports Illustrated.

This collection consists of photographs of Hillary Clinton addressing the Redbook Magazine Awards luncheon on June 2, 1998, in the East Room of the White House. Kate White, Editor of Redbook, introduced each honoree at the luncheon. Hillary Clinton presented awards to the honorees and joined the award winners for a group photo. One of the honorees was Senator Patty Murray. Hillary Clinton greeted the event’s participants in the Diplomatic Reception room. There are also photos of White House Pastry Chef, Roland Mesnier, Franette McCullough, and staff.

This collection consists of photographs of an event on October  7, 1993, with Hillary Rodham Clinton greeting Carly Simon in the receiving line at the Presidential Arts Medal ceremony and dinner at the White House.  There are also photos  from March 19, 1994, with Hillary Rodham Clinton greeting Carly Simon at a luncheon at the Gannett headquarters in Arlington, VA.  On April 14, 1994, the photos include Hillary Rodham Clinton greeting Carly Simon and others at the Elie Wiesel Humanitarian Award ceremony at the New York Public Library.  And on August 18, 1998, the photos include the Clintons arriving at the airport at Martha's Vineyard and greeting Carly Simon and others on the tarmac.

Situation Room

This collection consists of photographs of President Clinton meeting with his National Security and Foreign Policy advisors in the Situation Room on August 12, 1998. The President is briefed by his National Security team. There are also photographs from a Foreign Policy Meeting in the Oval Office on August 14, 1998. The President met with George Tenet, William Cohen, Madeleine Albright, Sandy Berger, Leon Fuerth, Richard Clarke, Gen. Henry "Hugh" Shelton, Thomas Pickering, Gen. Donald Kerrick, Maria Echaveste, and John Podesta.

This collection consists of photographs of Larry Summers with President Clinton and with economic policy team advisors. The photographs date from 1996-1997, 1999 and 2001. Some of the advisors in the meetings include: Laura Tyson, Janet Yellen, Katie McGinty, Jack Lew, Sylvia Mathews, John Podesta, Gene Sperling, Alice Rivlin, Martin Baily, and others. Photographs include Larry Summers briefing President Clinton on budget matters, and Summers presenting the President’s 1997 Budget to the press on March 19, 1996 in the Old Executive Office Building.

United States Wrestling Team

This collection consists of two video recordings containing a photo-op of President Clinton and the U.S. Wrestling team in the Oval office. The President greeted the wrestlers and team officials. The team presented several gifts to the President, including two medals that were awarded at the recent competitions in Iran. The President made remarks to the team and guests.

This collection consists of correspondence, press releases and reports, speeches, trip planning information, daily schedules, and public remarks concerning the Winfield House, the U.S. Ambassador’s residence in London. During his presidency, President Clinton visited the residence three times: November 1995 and May 1997 and 1998.

Woolsey, James

This collection consists of photographs of President Clinton and James Woolsey. James Woolsey was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) under President Clinton from 1993 until 1995. The photographs are from March 16, 1994, and include photographs of President Clinton greeting CIA Director, James Woolsey in the Oval Office, President Clinton greeting Boy Scouts in the Oval Office, and President Clinton dropping by a meeting with the National League of Cities in the Cabinet Room.
