Colonel Todd M. Copeland is the Commander, 5th Operations Group, Minot Air Force Base, N.D. Colonel Copeland leads 300 combat-ready professionals, and is responsible for conventional and nuclear operations, deployment planning, tactics, training, standardization and evaluation, intelligence, and airfield operations.

Colonel Copeland was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1989 and is an experimental test pilot and command pilot with over 3900 hours in 33 different makes and models of aircraft. He has served as an instructor and evaluator pilot in the B-2, B-52 and T-38 and conducted developmental flight tests in the B-2, B-52 and F-16. His staff experience includes a tour as the Chief, Air to Ground Weapons and Bomber Test Programs at Headquarters Air Force, Division of Test and Evaluation where he worked closely with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Director of Operational Test and Evaluation air weapons division. He also commanded the 509th Operations Support Squadron at Whiteman AFB which has sole responsibility for the planning and coordination of B-2 global combat missions. Col. Copeland holds a Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas and two Masters Degrees, one in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee Space Institute and one in Systems Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He has deployed and/or supported Operations Desert Fox, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom and PACAF's Continuous Bomber Presence.

Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Copeland was the Deputy Director, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
