Fort Wool: Star Spangled Banner Rising

Fort Wool, now a quiet historical landmark, has been witness to some of the most influential figures and events in American history. Originally called Fort Calhoun, this 15-acre artificial island was built in 1817 as a companion to Fort Monroe. J. Michael Cobb, curator of the Hampton History Museum, will talk about Fort Wool's historic significance to the region on April 13.
Brick-by-Brick: LEGO Shipbuilding

CSS Florida Artifacts on Display

The underwater archaeology exhibit, Confederate State Ship Florida, is now open at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum featuring rare artifacts.
War of 1812-era Cannon On Display

The museum has recently installed a War of 1812-era, 18-pounder cannon for public display. The cannon originated from the American frigate Constellation, which defended Hampton Roads against a British attack at the 1813 Battle of Craney Island. More can be learned in the press release.
Battleship Wisconsin Turnover
