Contacting the MRC

What is the role of the MRC Regional Coordinators?

Each region has an MRC Regional Coordinator (RC). Specific tasks may vary from region to region, depending on the regions’ needs. However, RCs also have similar responsibilities. Some of these include:

  • Coordinating activities among MRC units in their region
  • Obtaining information from MRC units about these activities
  • Ensuring MRC units are fulfilling the mission of the MRC program
  • "Spreading the word" of the MRC program
  • Overseeing the establishment of new MRC units
  • Increasing awareness and outreach
  • Overseeing and monitoring information dissemination to MRC units
  • Providing ongoing technical assistance and support to MRC units in their corresponding region
  • Encouraging MRC units to update their profiles and share information on the MRC Web site
  • Planning, attending, and participating in meetings and conference calls related to the MRC

The MRC RCs maintain communication and collaboration with State Coordinators, MRC Unit Coordinators, members of the Division of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (DCVMRC) staff, MRC volunteers, one another, and others involved in emergency preparedness and response efforts. RCs also provide consultation to the DCVMRC staff in reviewing new MRC unit applications.
