The Foundation for Higher Education Accreditation
During the 15th Annual Emergency Management Higher Education Conference, two breakout sessions covered the subject of program accreditation. After hearing these presentations, many individuals felt that a focus group should be formed to facilitate discussion of emergency management standards and the process for accreditation in the future. The FEMA Higher Education Program hosted an accreditation focus group meeting on these topics on September 12-13, 2012. A white paper detailing the preliminary recommendations of the focus group was produced and is now available.
We are requesting that the program director/coordinator at each institution (one per university) review the document and then complete a survey to be accessed at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EMGTHIED_ACCREDITATION
The findings of the survey will be presented at the 2013 FEMA Higher Education Conference and may have a bearing on if and how accreditation of higher education programs will proceed in the future.
For technical questions about the survey, please contact Jessica Jensen at ja.jensen@ndsu.edu.
