Flemish Brabant Province Visit
On Nov. 13, 2012, Amb. Gutman was hosted in the Overijse greenhouses by Governor De Witte of the Province of Flemish Brabant. This visit marked the end of the ambassador's trip to all the municipalities of the province.

East Flanders Province Visits
After enjoyable visits to St-Martens-Latem and Deinze, Ambassador Gutman celebrated having visited the entire province of East Flanders at a reception hosted at the castle of Ooidonk with the Governor representative, provincial delegates, mayors of the region, and other VIP’s.

US DEA hands Belgium Federal Police 800,000 $
US Drug Enforcement Agency handed Belgian police officials 800,000 $ in recognition of their role in dismantling a global criminal network led by mobster Riccardo Fanchini. It is the first time that the U.S. has shared such seized assets with Belgium.

Belgian Beer Weekend
The first weekend of September is traditionally the Belgian Beer Weekend. Brewers from around the country showcase their beers on the Brussels Grand Place. Ambassador Gutman attended the festivities & participated in a beer tap race against Louis Tobback, Mayor of Leuven.
