Questions > FAQ Topic

Do I deploy with a weapon?

The answer to this question will be in your ULN line remarks and reporting instructions.  Whether or not you take your weapon(s) to pre-deployment training is covered in the 602 Training Group (Provisional)  Reporting Instructions (RIs) located in AEF Online (via the Air Force Portal) or given to you by your UDM.  Guidance on going downrange with your weapon(s) is contained in the RIs for the group you'll be assigned to.  Those RIs are also available on AEF online or your UDM can give them to you.

What are the weapons qualification requirements for JET or IA deployments?

Per AFI 36-2226, all personnel tasked to deploy to a combat zone or a hostile fire area will complete live fire qualification training on individual weapons identified for the deployment within 120 days of their final out-processing date from home station.   Additionally, this qual training must be completed before their pre-deployment training begins.  For more information, refer to AFI 36-2226 Combat Arms Program, training reporting instructions and theater reporting instructions.
