Partners

The National Park Service has formed several partnerships in order to sustain and expand the Geoscientists-In-the-Parks (GIP) program.

The Geological Society of America's GeoCorps™ America Program advertises the majority of the GIP positions (approximately 50 positions annually) and provides a convenient on-line application system. You must be a member of GSA to apply for a GeoCorps - GIP position (student membership costs $25). National Association of Geoscience Teachers Geoscience Teachers-in-the-Parks (GTIP) supports positions for earth scinece teachers at Mammoth Cave National Park, in cooperation with the park's Research Learning Center. Association for Women Geoscientists promotes the professional development of women in geosciences. AWG partners with the Geological Society of America to sponsor several GIP positions each year. To apply for these positions, see GSA's GeoCorps™ America website: www.geosociety.org/g_corps

American Indian Higher Education Consortium's mission is to support the work of tribal colleges and universities and the national movement for tribal self determination. AIHEC has recently begun partnering with the Geological Society of America to sponsor several American Indian GIP positions.
