Open House Open House

The 2010 Kunsan Air Base Open House and Gunsan Appreciation Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1.

The base will open its doors to the local community and hold events including an F-16 Fighting Falcon fly-by, Korean dance performances, static displays, organizational booths, military working dog demonstrations, aircraft munitions-loading competitions, music and more.

Transportation for Wolf Pack members will be provided from the base theater to the event location every 15 minutes.

Korean civilian guests will be bused to Kunsan Air Base by off-base transportation.

The 8th Fighter Wing hosts the 2010 Kunsan Air Base Open House and Gunsan Appreciation Day Oct. 1. This event is intended to foster a positive working relationship with the local population and civic leaders, to foster the U.S. Air Force's, U.S. Army's and Republic of Korea Air Force's pride in its combat capabilities, and to demonstrate their combined Coalition power and assets.

tabSecurity Information 
Korean citizens age 17 and older are required to show their Korean driver's license or their Korean identification card for entry.

All school-age children must carry student IDs if available. Younger children and those without IDs must be accompanied by an adult with an ID or driver's license.

Visitors who are not Korean citizens must bring their passport for entry to the air show. Visitors from the following countries are prohibited: Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), Russian Federation, People's Republic of China, and Iran.

No protests will be allowed. Protests are illegal and protesters will be apprehended by police and charged with tresspassing.

Strollers for young children will be permitted. All bags and personnel entering the installation are subject to search at any time while on Kunsan Air Base.

Any bags, purses or other items that are found unattended on base will be confiscated for investigation by security forces.

2010 Kunsan Air Base Open House fly-by:

F-16 "Fighting Falcon" (8th FW)
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack.

A-10 "Thunderbolt II" (51st FW)
A-10/OA-10 Thunderbolt IIs have excellent maneuverability at low air speeds and altitude, and are highly accurate weapons-delivery platforms.



UH-60 "Black Hawk" (2nd Infantry Division)
The versatile Black Hawk has enhanced the overall mobility of The Army, due to dramatic improvements in troop capacity and cargo lift capability, and will serve as The Army's utility helicopter in the Objective Force.
