Add Value to your Export Documentation Software by completing the AESDirect Software Certification Program and becoming an AESDirect Certified Software Vendor.
AESDirect (http://www.aesdirect.gov), a service of the Bureau of the Census that enables businesses to file export information at no cost over the Internet, to the Automated Export System (AES), is now online, taking user registrations and accepting export information (SEDs).
In addition to making it easy for shippers and freight forwarders to enter their SEDs through the interactive web interface, AESDirect also allows company's (your clients) to prepare batches of SEDs locally and upload these to AESDirect for processing. Your software can be certified as compatible with AESDirect by demonstrating the ability to provide accurate and complete batch data to AESDirect. Once you do this, your software package will be recognized as AESDirect Certified.
Once your software is AESDirect Certified your clients will be able to apply for EDI upload to AESDirect with no additional certification or testing. All AESDirect will need is confirmation from you that the version of your software that your client has is AESDirect Certified!
How to become an AESDirect certified software vendor
Go to the AESDirect website (http://www.aesdirect.gov), click on the Support Center, and fill out the AESDirect software vendor application. An AESDirect technical representative will work you and your staff to complete the certification, and a Census AES client representative will be assigned to review and confirm the result of the certification process.
When you have successfully completed the certification process, AESDirect will recognize your software package and company as AESDirect Certified, and your clients will be able to submit EDI data to AESDirect.
