CNA students at Job Corps

Academics

In addition to career training, Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students (age 20 years old and under) who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Whitney M. Young Jr. can enroll in our GED/high school program.

Students who have 15 or more high school credits may enroll in our high school diploma program through a partnership between our center and local school districts. A high school diploma is awarded once all the required credits have been completed.
