Andrew Ermitano Appointed to U.S. Naval Academy
Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today announced that Andrew N.E. Ermitano has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Andrew was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into the Naval Academy. The Naval Academy’s admission board selected Andrew based on his academic achievements, athletic abilities, extracurricular activities and community involvement. Andrew’s twin brother Anthony was also appointed to the United States Naval Academy.

Hunter Stephens Appointed to USAFA
The Congresswoman today announced that Hunter I.C. Stephens has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hunter was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into the Air force Academy. The Air force Academy’s admission board selected Hunter based on his academic achievements, athletic abilities, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Bordallo Visits Erica’s House, Highlights Importance of VAWA Reauthorization
The Congresswoman recently visited Erica’s House, a family visitation center mandated by the Family Violence Act of 1998, to learn more about their work on Guam. She also met with representatives of the Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault & Family Violence to discuss H.R. 11, Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, which was recently reintroduced in the House on January 22, 2013; a companion bill, S. 47, will be voted on in the Senate later this week and is expected to pass.
Ceremonial Swearing-In for Congresswoman Bordallo
The Congress woman announced Friday that U.S. District Court of Guam Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood held a ceremonial swearing-in on Guam for her sixth term as Delegate to the United States Congress. The swearing-in ceremony was held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 in the Hall of Governors at the Latte of Freedom, located at the Ricardo J. “Ricky” Bordallo Governor’s Complex in Adelup.
