The United States Service Academies Class 2017
 

The Office of Military Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan is pleased to invite young Kazakhstanis to compete for a potential appointment to the United States Service Academies (U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy) for the Class of 2017, which enters in the summer of 2013.   

Candidates must be unmarried, at least 17 years of age and must not have passed their 23rd birthday on July 1, 2013. Academy graduates from Kazakhstan would sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan to return and serve in the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan for a specified period of time, and would earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Foreign students get the same training, pay, and allowances as U.S. citizens, and are subject to the same rules and regulations. 

Interested applicants must pass the Test of English as a Second Language (TOEFL), the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT Reasoning) or the American College Test (ACT), an Embassy-administered physical fitness test; a medical exam showing they are free of communicable diseases, and pass an interview administered by the U.S. Embassy in Astana.  All candidates must be registered at their local respective Departments for Defense Matters.
