Magnolia LNG, LLC - FE Dkt. No. 12-183-LNG


The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an application filed on December 18, 2012, by Magnolia LNG, LLC requesting long-term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the proposed Magnolia LNG Terminal to be located near Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Magnolia LNG seeks to export LNG to any nation with which the United States currently has, or in the future may enter into, a Free Trade Agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and which has or in the future develops the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier.  Magnolia LNG requests authorization to export LNG in an amount up to 4 million metric tons per annum (approximately 0.54 Bcf/day or 210 trillion Btu per annum of natural gas equivalent) over a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or ten years from the date the requested authorization is granted.
