Statement of Ambassador Feinstein on Polish Suspension of Diplomatic Activities in Syria

I was pleased to learn that the staff of the Polish Embassy and the U.S. Interest Section in Syria has safely departed from Damascus.

Poland served as America’s protecting power in Syria since February 6. The brave Polish diplomats who served in the U.S. Interests Section helped keep U.S. citizens safe during a dangerous and difficult time. For this we owe Poland a debt of gratitude.

I thank the Government and the people of Poland for their act of friendship and solidarity.
