James Parks

Deputy Vice President, Department of Policy and Evaluation

Mr. James Parks is Deputy Vice President for Policy and Evaluation. Since joining MCC in October 2010, he has been involved in strengthening MCC’s policy and analysis including the Partnership for Growth, supporting country selection, and overseeing implementation of the redesigned threshold program.

Mr. Parks spent over 22 years at the World Bank including assignments in the Managing Director’s Office, and the Latin America and Caribbean, Europe and Central Asia, and Middle-East and North Africa regions. He has advised governments on macroeconomic policy issues, structural reforms, privatization and social protection.  He led some of the Bank’s largest policy lending operations and a wide range of analytical work, authoring and co-authoring numerous reports.

Prior to joining the Bank in 1988, Mr. Parks was a Peace Corps volunteer teaching school in a Nepali mountain village. Mr. Parks studied at MIT, Princeton and the University of Geneva.  He speaks several foreign languages including French, Spanish, Nepali and Romanian.
