Emergency Contact

ACS Emergency Contact Info

American Citizen Services can assist when U.S. citizens in Venezuela are arrested, missing, become victims of violent crime, or become ill. ACS can also assist the next-of-kin in the death of a U.S. citizen abroad, or where there is otherwise a need for immediate help. One of our most important roles is to keep family members in the United States apprised of circumstances in Venezuela, so that they can make necessary decisions about their loved ones and provide financial support.

The Embassy monitors email messages sent to ACSVenezuela@state.gov from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Venezuelan time, except for U.S. and Venezuelan holidays (PDF, 84.10KB). In case of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen during those hours, you can contact the American Citizen Services Unit calling 0212-975-6411, if you are calling from the United States your must dial (+58) 212-975-6411 or you can send an email to our email address, being sure to include the word “emergency” in your subject heading.  You should also include a brief description of the situation, U.S. citizens involved, and a phone number where you can be reached. The U.S. Embassy in Caracas is located on Calle F con Calle Suapure, Colinas de Valle Arriba, Caracas, Venezuela.

  • Outside of those hours, you can reach an Embassy duty officer by calling 0212-9078400.
  • From the United States, the number is (+58) 212-9078400.

If you are a victim of crime, call the local police at 171, or you can also contact local police directly by calling:

  • Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas: (+58)212-5084210

    OR
  • Policía Metropolitana:(+58) 212-8625871

Calls to the local police will not be answered by English speakers, but they may attempt to find someone who speaks basic English to speak with you. The US Embassy cannot take custody of American citizens or intervene in Venezuelan legal procedures. All US citizens are subject to the laws of the Government of Venezuela.
