Center Life

A typical day at Cass Job Corps is full of activities to help our students prepare for the real world. Students get up early and spend the majority of their day receiving academic and hands-on career technical training.

After class, students study or hang out with friends before dinner in the cafeteria. After dinner, students may do chores in their dorms or spend their downtime studying. Most students are in bed by 10 PM in order to rest for the next day's tasks.

Recreation

Cass Job Corps boasts one of the best recreation programs in the nation. Students find our recreational activities to be a fun and exciting way to meet new friends, socialize, and just relax and unwind at the end of the day.

We offer traditional sports and games such as basketball and softball. Other activities include: chess, checkers, volleyball, and intramural tournaments. Our Student Union/Recreation building is available to our students and has a state of the art weight room, a pool room, and much more.

We also have weekly recreational trips for activities such as movies, bowling, and sports events. Participation in these trips is based on our Color Card system. Good work and behavior will allow you access to many more activities. If you excel at our center, you will be rewarded.

Fire Crew Program

Students can also participate in our Fire Crew Program. Upon completion of training and meeting certain requirements, Fire Crew students can go on a fire detail to assist in fire prevention and fire fighting. These fire details last for two weeks at a time, and students will have a chance to work in different locations throughout the United States. Students who complete a fire detail will be paid for their hard work.

Safety

Job Corps is committed to offering all students a safe and secure environment. That's why we have a Zero Tolerance Policy for violence and drugs. Any student who breaks this policy will be dismissed immediately from Job Corps.
