COL Dellinger

COL David L. Dellinger

Garrison Commander

 

COL Buck Dellinger of Asheville, NC was commissioned into the Infantry from the United States Military Academy in December 1988.  From that time he served as Infantry Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division, Aide-de-Camp and Plans and Policy Officer in the Joint Special Operations Command, Detachment Commander for both ODA 023 and ODA 031 in the 10th Special Forces Group  (Airborne), Professor and Executive Officer in the Department of Social Sciences, United States Military Academy, Commander of the Military Freefall School, Director of Opeations (S-3), 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), Aide-de-Camp for the Commanding General, United States Army Special Operations Command, the Director of Operations (J-3) for CJSOTF-AP in Iraq, Battalion Commander of the 101st Division Special Troops Battalion and as the Director of Operations (J-3) for SOCEUR.

COL Dellinger is a graduate of the Special Forces Qualification and Ranger courses, the Command and General Staff College and the Senior Service College (Fellow).  He is a graduate of the Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance Target Acquisition and Exploitation Course (SFARTAEC) and the Advanced Military Freefall Parachutist Course.  He has been awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal (3 awards), the Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), the Joint Service Commendation (2 awards), Army Commendation and Army Achievement medals.  He has twice earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (Operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom).

COL Dellinger earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University.

He  is married and has two children.
