Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP): There's still time to apply!

The 2011 VOW to Hire Heroes Act includes an education and training program called the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP). VRAP offers up to 12 months of training assistance to unemployed Veterans.

Who qualifies for VRAP?

Unemployed Veterans who are between the ages of 35 and 60 may be eligible for up to 12 months of training assistance through VRAP. This program, jointly administered by VA and the Department of Labor (DOL), will provide training for high-demand jobs to 99,000 Veterans.

Participants will receive a monthly payment equal to the full-time rate under the Montgomery GI Bill–Active Duty program (currently $1,473 per month). DOL will offer employment assistance to every Veteran who participates or applies.

Applications are being accepted now. Learn more about VRAP, review eligibility requirements in detail, and submit an application by visiting the VRAP website
