U.S. citizen services and notary services- Scheduling of appointments

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Section at the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro operates by appointment only for all customers needing non-emergency services, including U.S. passports, reporting the birth abroad of a child of a U.S. citizen in Brazil and/or applying for the child’s first passport, or requesting notary and other services. By scheduling appointments we can provide better, more efficient service to the public. Click here for more information and instructions.

Closure to the public:

The Consulate is always closed on Brazilian and U.S. holidays. In addition, the Consular Section will be closed on the following dates in 2012:

The U.S. Consulate in Rio de Janeiro maintains a Consular Agency in Salvador to provide the services above described to all American Citizens located in the area of Bahia state.
