Refugee Travel Documents (I-131)

USCIS-Athens Field Office

USCIS Rome is the only office in the Rome District to accept applications for refugee travel documents.

To apply, an applicant must have:

  • Been admitted to the United States as a refugee or asylee;
  • Departed the United States without having applied for a refugee travel document; and
  • Not been outside the United States for more than one year

Filing an Application for Refugee Travel Document

All I-131 applicants must be fingerprinted using form FD-258. Fingerprints can be taken at USCIS Athens or at U.S. Embassies or Consulates within our jurisdiction.
