Buffalo Big Mountain and two of his children entertained the crowds at Sport Expo 2009 with traditional Native American dances.

Big Mountain and his children, Sage and Zander “Kicking Horse” Big Mountain, joined groups of experts in the martial arts, acrobats and other dancers who performed December 12 at Sport Expo. The exposition in Tashkent drew large numbers of people.

Buffalo Big Mountain, whose ancestry lies in the Mohawk and Commanche nations of Native Americans, has been performing traditional dances at many venues during his stay in Uzbekistan. He said the performances are a way of educating people about the history and culture of Native Americans.

The Big Mountain family lives in Tashkent, where Mary Big Mountain serves as chief of the Office of Military Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy.
