Proposed Rules for Public Comment
- February 1, 2013. Notice of availability of fishery ecosystem plan amendments; request for comments. NMFS announces that the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council proposes to amend four fishery ecosystem plans to establish fishing requirements consistent with the Presidential proclamations that created the Marianas Trench, Pacific Remote Islands, and Rose Atoll Marine National Monuments.
Comments must be received by April 2, 2013. View the Federal Register notice, environmental assessments, and other supporting documentation here. - January 2013. Proposed catch limit specifications. NMFS proposes annual catch limits for western Pacific bottomfish, crustacean, precious coral, and coral reef ecosystem fisheries, and accountability measures to correct or mitigate any overages of catch limits. The proposed catch limits and accountability measures support the long-term sustainability of fishery resources of the U.S. Pacific Islands.
