Job Summary:

This position is located in the Security and Emergency Operations Division (SEOD). It reports to the Director, SEOD. As a Physical Security Specialist you will serve as the Federal Program Facilitator for SEOD planning including, Site Security Plan, SPR Implementation Contingency Plan, SEOD Management Plan, and SPRPMO SEOD Orders. You will also provide Federal oversight for policy and execution of physical systems.

Duties: 

As a Physical Security Specialist, you will:

  • Develop, Implement and Monitor SPRPMO Physical Systems
  • Conduct Contractor oversight and provide guidance
  • Audit Contractor programs to ensure program goals are being met
  • Administer strategic and tactical planning, vulnerability analysis including Force-on-Force exercises
  • Monitor and evaluate design reviews and construction projects for Physical Security systems for compliance with Federal regulations

Qualifications Required: 
Education may not be substitued for experience at this grade level

A qualified candidates online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

 

The GS-11 position requires one year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. 

 

For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

  • Skill in testing a Physical Security System
  • Ability to conduct a Vulnerability Analysis
  • Ability to provide Contractor Oversight
  • Knowledge of security principles, theories, and techniques
  • Knowledge of emergency operations and law enforcement/para military operations
  • General knowledge of construction specifications and process
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with individuals of all levels
