Recent hydrologic conditions, HawaiiLatest update February 5, 2013 Poamoho Rain Gage No. 1, OahuData collected after October 17, 2012 are provisional and have not been reviewed or edited. They may be subject to significant change. Poamoho rain gage no. 1 is at the crest of the Koolau Range above Wahiawa at an altitude of 2,480 ft (gage photo). The rain gage has been operated since 1967. The average yearly rainfall at the gage since 1967 is about 173 inches. Rainfall for January 2013 (24.2 inches) can be compared with island-wide rainfall data recorded by the National Weather Service. This station is operated by the Honolulu field office in cooperation with the State of Hawaii Commission on Water Resource Management and is equipped with a satellite transmitter delivering rainfall updates every hour (Go to real-time website for this gage).
