This site is designed to assist persons who are interested in interstate surface transportation businesses. The rules, regulations, and requirements governing interstate surface transportation are administered by two agencies of the federal government and applicable state agencies.

The federal agencies are Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Surface Transportation Board. The intent of this booklet is to furnish a brief summary of interstate motor carrier rules, regulations, and requirements to those individuals new to the industry. This information should not be considered as inclusive.
