February 3, 2012 Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement after the Susan G. Komen Foundation reversed its decision to cut off Planned Parenthood from funding for breast cancer screening and preventive services: “I am pleased that women in Nevada and across the country will continue to have access to life-saving preventive care thanks to the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s decision allow Planned Parenthood to continue receiving its grants. More than 4,000 women in northern Nevada have already received affordable breast cancer exams through Planned Parenthood thanks to a grant from Komen, and as a result countless lives have been saved. ###
