The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., has more than 150 million items in its collection, including maps, videos, pictures, drawings, books, and more. Managers receive a new item about every 5 minutes. They currently have about 20 million items available online for free with no subscription required. They have designed a site specifically for teachers (www.loc.gov/teachers) with classroom materials, lesson plans designed to meet state standards, professional development curriculum, and primary sources.
