Housing Ceremony for New Fire Apparatus

Westovers Fire Department members "pushed in" their new Engine 7 vehicle on March 9, 2012. Part of the traditional housing ceremony includes having the firefighters push the new apparatus into the firehouse. Hurricane Irene

All but two of Westover Air Reserve Base’s C-5 aircraft were evacuated Aug. 26 - 27 to bases in Florida, Delaware and Ohio, in preparation for Hurricane Irene. In addition, 61 trailers loaded with bottled water, generators, tarps, food, and other emergency supplies arrived at Westover Aug. 26 and 27 as the base partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in preparation for the hurricane, which hit New England Sunday, Aug. 28.
