Browser Information
TEAS is a web-based application that works works with Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 8.0, FireFox 5.0.1, Safari 5.0.5, and Google Chrome 13.0.
While the USPTO does not specifically endorse these web browser products, these are the browsers that support various TEAS features, namely, frames, JavaScript, and file upload. TEAS filers should check their web browser settings for SSLv3 and TLSv1. The box labeled "Use SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0" should be CHECKED and the box labeled "Use SSL 2.0" should be UNCHECKED. See Steps to enable the SSL3 and TLS1 settings. If during the payment process for your filing you encounter an "SSL Certificate Error," you should try a browser other than IE. Or, if limited to IE, please simply try the next available browser version (for example, IE7.0 and IE8.0 are currently available for download). Steps to enable JavaScript in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or Later
1. Open the Internet Explorer browser.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the Security tab, click Internet.
4. Click Custom Level.
5. Scroll down to Active scripting.
6. Click Enable (or Prompt).
7. Click OK.
8. Click Yes.
9. Click OK.
10. Click Refresh.
Steps to enable JavaScript in Firefox 3.xx series
1. Open Firefox.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click Web Features in the Options list.
4. Under the Web Features section, check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
5. UnClick the Advanced button to open the Advanced JavaScript Options box.
6. ChCheck the bos under "Allow scripts to" section.
7. Click OK.
8. Click OK.
9. Click Reload.
Steps to enable JavaScript in Safari 3.0+
1. Open Safari.
2. On the Safari menu, click Preferences.
3. Click Security.
4. Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
5. Close the window.
6. Click Reload.
