The 113th Congress convened this week, and I look forward to two more years of working to reduce the deficit, protect defense, and ensure that our children and grandchildren inherit an America true to the values of our Founders. I’m excited to serve the people of North Alabama in the 113th Congress, and I hope that you won’t hesitate to share your concerns and views with me.

I will continue my work as an advocate for our national security and NASA on the influential House Armed Services and Science, Space and Technology Committees. I am also very pleased to add the Foreign Affairs Committee to my work scope. These are all areas not only of national importance, but they also impact more than 35,000 military, federal civilian, and private sector jobs in Alabama’s Fifth Congressional District. I am very pleased with these committee assignments and look forward to working on them in the 113th Congress.
