The 515 Air Mobility Operations Group (AMOG) was activated on 26 June 2008 under the 515 Air Mobility Operations Wing (AMOW) located at Hickam AFB, HI. The 515 AMOG controls, loads, unloads, and repairs Western Pacific en route mobility aircraft, whether military, commercial, or foreign to keep the mission moving with precise, reliable VELOCITY! Three Air Mobility Squadrons (AMS) fall under the 515 AMOG; 730 AMS, Yokota AB, Japan, 733 AMS, Kadena AB, Japan and 731 AMS Osan, South Korea. In addition to these units the group is also responsible for air mobility operations throughout the western pacific encompassing over 890+ military, US and host nation civilians.

Over the past two years the group has overseen a vast array of airlift operations to include humanitarian relief to earthquake victims in China and tsunami relief in American Samoa. Additionally, it has provided vital support to such diplomatic events as the G-8 summit and President Obama's first visit to the Asian theater. As a critical element of America's power projection capability the group has also played an essential role supporting the nation's ongoing war on terrorism with 24/7 Air Mobility Support for the Warfighter and Joint Community.

The tremendous efforts of the 515 AMOG earned its first Outstanding Unit Award streamer as key member of the 18th Air Force team.
